Mr Choksy is a full time NHS Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon at Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals (ESNEFT) performing the full range of emergency and elective vascular operations. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and full member of the Vascular Society.
He has practicing privileges at the Nuffield Hospital Ipswich and at Ramsay Oaks Hospital Colchester. Both hospitals offer full treatment facilities for modern varicose treatments as well as surgery
He has extensive experience in assessment and the treatment of varicose veins. He treats almost all varicose veins by modern minimally invasive methods such as radiofrequency, laser and foam sclerotherapy which avoids scarring, pain and bruising.
Mr Choksy deals with problems in patients with other circulation problems such as AAAs (abdominal aneurysm aortic aneurysm) is a specialist in EVAR (endovascular aneurysm repair) and open repair of AAA. He is the director of the Five Rivers Aneurysm Screening Programme for detection of AAA in men in Suffolk and North Essex.
He also performs carotid endarterectomy, an operation designed to prevent strokes in patients and deals with blockages and narrowings in the leg arteries (PAD peripheral arterial disease) which can be treated by balloon treatment angioplasty or by a bypass operation.
He records his results in the national vascular registry.
Mr Choksy has extensive experience in the repair of hernias using the open technique especially inguinal (groin) hernias which he often performs in awake patients.
